March 2018 — Dance

Jeremy Nedd was awarded residency in South Africa in 2017, through a partnership with Atelier Mondial and Theatre Roxy, both in Basel.  He is interested in exploring the relationship with audience and communal acts of art making and practising, with a particular focus on Pantsula dance.  He comes initially in March 2018 in an exploratory manner to meet professionals in the dance field, watch performances, and initiate his investigation into Pantsula dance.

Nedd, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York is a physical performer, choreographer and sound designer. Upon completion of his formal dance studies at SUNY Purchase college he had the opportunity to work with various creatives in the NYC dance scene.

Nedd has had engagements with the Dresden SemperOper (2010-2012) and the Basel Ballett (2012-2016). During this time he has had the opportunity to present works in both forementioned companies young choreographer evenings as well free scene spaces in the both cities. Most recently he has choreographed and presented his own evening length production ‘How to save a phoney from becoming a fraud’ in Basel and taken on a Masters in Expanded Theater at Hochschule der Künste Bern.

Until this date, the deadlines and criteria outlined in the current guidelines and calls for applications apply. New applications can be created and submitted in the application portal as of 8 January 2024.
