Swiss DJ Amos will share his skills with young Ivorians during season II of La Sunday School

La Sunday School

Find out more

Founded in 2018, La Sunday began as a block party with 50 people and within a year, grew to become one of the biggest festivals in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Today, La Sunday is a part of the culture of the city: an event where every Ivorian can party in a safe place and where creatives, entrepreneurs and artists can come together as a community.

Building on the ethos of community, La Sunday School is a programme of workshops, exchanges, masterclasses and mentoring led by international artists to introduce young creatives to the professional music industry. La Sunday School not only provides an opportunity for the invited professional artists to share their skills and knowledge with the next generation, but to develop their own network in West Africa and make themselves known through an international platform.

Swiss DJ Amos Joan aka Amos a La Playa, has been invited to participate in the second edition of La Sunday School from 28-30 July 2021. Amos is the founder of the Swiss party label “3Hunna6” and was a member of the live band “Sirens of Lesbos”. He is the live DJ for well-known Swiss rapper Nativ and tours as a club DJ across Switzerland. Recently he has been drawing attention to himself as a producer. Amos’ musical interests are broad and he rains “on the pulse” of current trends.  He is adept at feeling a crowd and creates unforgettable party nights.

Amos will join four other invited DJs for La Sunday School: DJ TGarb (Tomi Garber) from London/Lagos, Jojo SK from DR of Congo, Black Charles (Charles Tanoh-Boutchoué) from Brazil/USA/Ivory Coast, and DJ Yve (Jean Yves Tra Bi) from Ivory Coast. Following the 3 days of training, the invited DJs will play at La Sunday on 1 August 2021.
