PACE: Entangled is going online to connect performing arts from Africa with the world

An initiative of the Vrystaat Arts Festival in Bloemfontein, Pan-African Creative Exchange (PACE): Entangled is an interdisciplinary arts showcase platform for artists based on the African continent and the diaspora to present their work to international delegates (producers, theatre directors, festival programmers, funding organisations etc.) to further grow their networks, build connections and get their productions out into the world. Due to COVID-19, this year’s PACE platform will take place virtually from 25-29 August 2020.
The PACE Entangled lineup will feature nine strands: presentation of full shows for tour-ready work; showcasing excerpts of tour-ready work; showcasing excerpts of work in progress; pitching new work; a PACE New Voices programme; a producer’s shadowing and exchange program; critical debate/roundtable sessions; networking programmes; and key PACE programming events.
Through ANT Funding, 38 artists from Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Zambia and South Africa will be supported to participate and showcase their work to the international delegates attending this year’s platform.
