Kaleidoscopic SA and Swiss jazz talent combine for The Mill album launch tour

The Mill is set to facilitate the creation of new musical collaboration through international collaboration with musicians from South Africa and Switzerland.

Marco Muller (bass) Christopher Steiner (drums) Matthias Tshcopp (alto/baritone sax), Fabian Willman (bass clarinet/tenor saxophone) and Florian Egli (alto/soprano saxophone)will tour and perform alongside South African musicians Mandla Mlangeni (trumpet), Vuma Levin(guitar) Siya Makuzeni (trombone) and Yonela Mnana (piano).

The Mill Album Launch Tour is a culmination of a recording of original material from the collective. This March, the unit will premier original compositions in South Africa at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival and a series of performances in Durban, Cape Town and Swaziland.

As part of the tour, the musicians will undertake various roles such as composing, performing and facilitating workshops committed to promoting quality music in new and interesting formats at the Cape Town Jazz Festival and venues such as the Just Badela(Johannesburg), The Chairman (Durban) and The Mbabane Theatre Club (eSwatini).

The Mill is intended to function as a springboard to other activities that will contribute to community upliftment, youth empowerment and the opportunity to create long-lasting friendships through music.
