Vilho Nuumabala at Edge of Wrong 2018

Edge of Wrong has been delivering unique festival events in Cape Town and Johannesburg for the past twelve years. Consisting of a team that links South Africa and Norway, its focus is on presenting exploratory and challenging music and sound in locations that connect various subsets of its host cities. Over its history it has made strong and lasting connections with artists, venues and supporters who continue to hold the festival in high regard.
As a contributing artist in the 2018 edition, prize winning Namibian photographer Vilho Nuumabala will be exhibiting a selection of photos and video material that depicts his political and artistic approach to his visual work. He will also be performing in Cape Town as a collaboration with another artist at the festival, blending his vocal expressions with experimental noise.
Vilho’s work aims to dismantle systems of intolerance and bigotry, and in doing so encourages unity among individuals and groups. He is a self-identifying feminist and in his work he promotes the depiction of women as powerful individuals. He also strives to eliminate social rifts in a post-colonial society, bringing about peace and understanding between social groups.
Edge of Wrong is on in Cape Town from April 19th – 22nd, and Joburg from April 27th – 28th, in multiple locations.
More information and tickets can be found on the Edge of Wrong website.
