Swiss beat-maker Melodiesinfonie on tour in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban

Swiss producer and beat-maker, Kevin Wettstein aka Melodiesinfonie, undertakes a three city tour in South Africa this September, anchored in the Fak’ugesi Beats Lab.

With a deep melodic focus, Melodiesinfonie’s influences range from Hip Hop and Funk to Jazz. He is also one part of the Boyoom Connective a record label, collective and movement of free spirited beat music makers based in Switzerland.

Performing in Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town, this tour is curated by Johannesburg based collective, Weheartbeat, and  forms part of Pro Helvetia Johannesburg’s annual music programme.

Taking place within the broader Fak’ugesi 2017 Festival, the Fak’ugesi Beats Lab seeks to connect and cogitate young creatives in this week-long  journey. Beginning on the 7th of September, music, technology and filmmaking are the focus; collaboration, co-creation and courage are key.

The collaborations will culminate with the Fak’ugesi Beats  Bloc Party to be held at the Tshimologong Precinct. The line-up also includes French DJ Evil Needle, and UK singer Hannah Faith.

“The Fak’ugesi Beat Lab is a week long journey into the world of music, tech and film, housing a selection of specially curated artists ready to polish and publish their original works through a collaborative process that will culminate at the festival finale in a showcase of mass proportions. We are very excited about this part of the program and look forward to the outcomes,” says Dominique Soma of Weheartbeat.

Following the Johannesburg engagement, Melodiesinfonie moves on to Durban for performance at the Winston Pub, and in a Cape Town venue to be confirmed.
