Swiss and SADC presence at ASSITEJ Cradle of Creativity

The Cradle of Creativity is the 19th ASSITEJ (International Association of Theatre for Children and Young People) World Congress and Performing Arts Festival. It will run from 16-27 May 2017, at venues across Cape Town, South Africa.
Held triennially, and for the first time on the African continent and with more than 80 counties participating, our office supports the presence of practitioners and companies from both Switzerland the the rest of the SADC region in the General Assembly and the Next Generation programme.
The conference programme offers a two-day academic programme “International Theatre for Young Audiences Research Network” followed by 13 various focus areas, which includes the launch of the international dance theatre for young audiences network on 24 May. Theatre as education Focus Day will provide an exciting engagement for teachers and artist-facilitators on 19 May.
With the support of the Pro Helvetia Swiss Arts Council, 21– Memories of Growing Up will be exhibited at the District Six Museum in Cape Town, from 19 May – 11 June 2017.
