Colagem Co!

Colagem Co! is an artistic exchange, live event, workshop and printed document. It was formed by Andrew Aitchison (ZA) and Tavares Cebola (MZ) to showcase, begin conversation and encourage cross border collaboration around interdisciplinary practices that emphasise the use of sampling and collage as a cultural production tool.

The first of a series will take place in Maputo, Mozambique between 25 June 2017 and and 2 July 2017. Colagem Co! Volume 1 features artists Felix Laband (ZA), Kerry Chaloner (ZA), Nandele Maguni (MZ), Ricardo Pinto George (MZ), Andrew Aitchison (ZA) and Tavares Cebola (MZ).

Consisting in a number of activities, a show and a workshops in the capital city of Mozambique, Maputo, combining two artistic disciplines (Music and Visual Arts) this project intends to establish ties between Mozambican and South African artists.

One of the primary goals of this project is to establish a bridge for a continuous collaboration between Mozambican and South African artists. Even though there is close territorial proximity

and common historical aspects between South Africa and Mozambique, we have not seen much in terms of collaboration over the last 10 years. Dates and venue of the live show and workshop will be announced in the coming weeks.
